Ohio Madness

So I just realized this is my third post with the word "Ohio" in the title. I'm not overly fascinated with the State, but maybe this is a sign I should pay a visit?

Anyway, March Madness is winding down (tear) and yours truly has a chance of winning her pool if Ohio wins in the final. (I actually picked both Florida and Ohio to be in the finals, but I'm trying not to brag since they were both a number 1 seed....). So, all I'm asking is for you to all cheer for Ohio on April 2nd. Face painting isn't mandatory but it would be a nice touch.

Oh, what do I win if Ohio wins? A few dollars, bragging privileges and 5 haiku's that discuss my greatness.

Fingers crossed.

I was wondering how March Madness was treating you.

I'll root for Ohio...my SIL lives in Ohio, you want me to, and I really don't like the Florida Gators.

Will do!

No can do. I am sitting here next to a man in an orange shirt and a gators cap who spent time, tuition and energy in Gainsville. It is not an option in these parts - not with the Bull Gators at every turn. It is no longer about winning office polls it is ugly!

Don't ever go to Ohio if you can avoid it. Ever. ;-)

How can it still be March madness if it's already April?

If I understood even a little bit about basketball I'd watch and cheer them on. Since I don't... uhm... I'll send good ju-ju?

Jennifer- March Madness has helped and hurt me at the same time. There were a few moments of rage (ie. S. Illinois,Memphis..) and a few moments of unexpected glee (ie. Georgetown). Thanks for the support!

e.b.- I completely understand and will not hold you directly responsible if Florida does win.

Sandra- What's so bad about Ohio? Now I'm intrigued..

Jay- I wish I knew. All I can say is that I'm glad it's still going. For one more game, at least. Then I will go back to knowing nothing about sports except standing on the couch usually makes my hockey team win. :)

Bre- Thanks! (If it makes you feel better, I understand nothing about basketball. But for these two weeks of the year, I pretend I'm a genius.)

I live on the border between Ohio and Michigan and let me tell you, any time either of those schools plays around here it is a major emotional experience. You would think life as we know it depends on the outcome of these games. All the Michiganders (including my man) are really hoping Ohio gets their ass handed to them, and the other half (including the smelly guy two offices down from me) have been wearing the same "OHIO STATE" gear for the last month.

I'm torn, since I am FSU alumni, and there's nothing a Seminole likes better than to see the Gators get trounced. Should that happen, however, my man and most of his friends will fall into a funk for the next month.

March Madness may just be an understatement!

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you (and Ohio) - when I'm not keeping them crossed hoping that today will be my "look as fresh as a daisy" day

See you are the reason I don't get a nice Sushi dinner this weekend!!! If UCLA and Georgetown had won I'd be gold (well my (not) boyfriend would have and he promised me dinner if I rooted for his teams instead of my own lol)! So I expect some sushi via internets coming my way *wink* lol

Why Ohio? There are some great states down here... In the west we have the diversity of CA, the weirdness of WA, the mountains of WY, Idaho, CO... the lights and energy of Nevada... the amazing colors of Arizona and New Mexico (unlike anything you will find in the rest of the country). The south has the story that is New Orleans and the south is a story within itself... words just can't describe that experience. new York, like Texas, is a country all its own. Then we have the charm of New England, each state offering something different to its quaint charm. PA, MD, DE, VA...so much history, diversity, excitement...then there is DC... the seat of crazy behavior. The heartland has much to offer as well if you like fields of grass, crops, and the feelings that you are truly in the center of this amazing vast and diverse country. With all of this... I am sincerely curious... why Ohio?

Because Ohio was a number one seed and just a team I liked. Lol, sorry, I wish I had a better reason than that but I don't. But seriously, you've made me want to visit so many states now! You should work for US tourism...
