Brace yourselves.
I've got big news.
Blogger has informed me that this is my 100th post. Cue confetti, start up the marching band and get those batons twirling!
To celebrate this momentous occasion, I considered a massive celebration complete with new sparkly shoes (any reason is a good reason to shoe shop). I thought everyone should take the day off work, and write poetry about how great I am. Perhaps those artistically inclined could make me some art, those who enjoy astronomy could name a star after me. Someone would find some elephants for us to ride around on (not circus animals, but wild elephants who are just wanting to give rides for fun) and cotton candy would fall from the sky like raindrops.
However, this seemed a tad impractical, so I saved you all the trouble of planning an elaborate party and have instead complied my ten favourite posts. They weren't always the ones that got a lot (if any) of hits from other readers but I consider them my greatest. If there is to be no parade, at least I will make this post all about me. I kid. Sort of.
1. Because that's how I roll...
2. Flair: 2007 Style
3. Garbage Day with the Hendersons
4. So this is what it's like
5. My lips are sealed
6. Under My Skin
7. X + Y + Z = I'm a rock star
8. Charmed, I'm sure
9. When a good run can break your heart
10. 20/20 Talk
Oh, and those are my shoes. The picture is a bit dodgy and you don't see the great heel but that's all I've got people. (Oh, and the jeans rolled up? That's 4 drinks in and suddenly I feel that people NEED to see the shoes more CLEARLY). But seriously. Shoes that great under $20? They were practically free!
On a completely different note I'm just finishing up my last few books and am looking for some good reads. Please share your suggestions!

congratulations! ironic, b/c I just posted my 100th today also! Now, did you know, that per tradition you're supposed to do a "100 things" post with 100 interesting things about you... good luck with that, ha ha.
jenny- sadly I did that already!
CONGRATULATIONS !!! AWWWW! I was looking forward to the party :)
Congratulations.
Your blog background needs to have confetti in it!
Wow! Congratulations!
I wish that I was artistic, I'd make a wicked creation of some sort to commemorate the occasion!
Love. shoes. WANT.
I've been enjoying _The Family Tree_ by Carole Cadwalladr.
Woohoo 100! Love the shoes, love the blog, loved the idea of raining cotton candy until you took that away from me!
Congratulations... Can't wait to read the next 100!
Books... do you like a specific genre?
Oh my gosh, where does everyone find those cute shoes?! Not that I have any place to wear them, but it would be nice to know I could!
Happy 100! Here's to 100 more! and more, and more!
first of all - excellent shoes. love the pink.
as for books:
- i laughed the whole way through Bitter is the New Black (memoirs of a blogger turned author/chick lit-y)
- you can't go wrong with a little Barack Obama (the 2nd one is his policy outlook, the 1st one is about him/things that shaped him throughout his life)
- just purchased Absurdistan. satire. funny. NYT Book Review
- The Piano Man's Daughter? old school. but it moved me at the time.
i just finished this book and LOVED it, "The Time Traveler's Wife" by: Audrey Niffenegger.
You will laugh, cry, fall in love with the characters.
COngratulations on the 100th post!! :)
Fabulous shoes (from where??)
The Wonder Spot - Melissa Bank
The Year of Magical Thinking - Joan Didion
both are wonderful
this happened yesterday! i left a comment and it dissapeared! weird!
love the shoes! and love that you posted your favorite posts!
i took a picture of my birthday present to myself (new red shoes), but it didnt come out nearly as good as yours. maybe tonight after celebratory cocktails ill try again. worked so well for you!
I'm all about the rolling up of the jeans to showcase the shoes. In fact, I highly recommend the cropped pant look a la SJP. :) Rock on.
Those shoes are insanely awesome! Where ever did you get them??
Also - Happy 100th! Am I a bad blogger because I have no idea how many posts I've written? :-p
Great shoes!
You like the slightly quirky stuff to read, right? History...?
I'm reading a few good books right now. One is Tale of Two Sisters by Anna Maxted.
As for the mildly intelligent literary stuff? I'm reading Zora Neale Hurston's autobiography, Dust Track on a Road. It's actually very amusing, and if you get more interested in her, there's an excellent biography called Wrapped in Rainbows.
And try Chuck Klausterman (his take on the movie Say Anything in his book Sex, Drugs and Cocoa Puffs is priceless).
Throw out some authors you like, and I'll think of some more (I am a professional librarian, after all - people pay for this kind of advice, okay, they don't, but I get paid to give it).
I love those shoes. LOVE them.
Good book, sort of obscure, and a pretty odd style, but fun nontheless:
Book suggestion:
Ella Minnow Pea by Mark Dunn.
It's freaking crazy.
With each chapter he uses one less letter of the alphabet until the last few pages where he only has like three letters... and the story makes sense.
Appletini- Sorry to disappoint!
Aaron- Dude, I just mastered picture posting. I will need another six months before I start confetti backgrounds ;)
Jennifer- Thanks, Miss Soon to be a Mom to TWO! ;)
swistle- Will totally check out. Thanks for the suggestion!
Ruby- Sorry to take that away from you. Hopefully you will forgive me.
the exception- I'm kinda all over on the genre topic. I will read anything pretty much except romance or something Anne Rice-ish.
justrun- Cute shoes are like cute guys. You don't find them. They find you. And that my friends, is todays moment of Zen.
hippiechyck- Thanks for the suggestions! I was wondering if Obama's book was any good.
Trixie- Read it, loved it!
Kathryn- At Suzy Shier of all places! And about the books, I've read them both and enjoyed them both, but I have to say I liked Melissa Banks "A Girls Guide to hunting and Fishing" more than her "Wonder Spot". thanks for the suggestions though!
brookem- Congratulations, have a great night out~!
Nic- Phrase of the day: "rock on"
Bre- Am I a bad blogger if I wrote my '100 things about me' post 30 posts ago? If the answer is no to me, it's no to you!
Sarah- Those sound good. I'm sort of all over when it comes to books. My profile shows some of my favourites. I'm currently reading a fluffy 'getting rid of matthew' and the book I just finished was a biography on JFK..
Melissavina- Sounds cool, I will totally check it out!
Found you through Indie Bloggers and as a fellow shoe addict I have to say, LOVE THEM.
Those are some awesome posts. i read every single one of them, and now sadly, I've got to start getting my arse in gear so I can get to work on time. :-(
As for books, you can always check out my blog for book reviews...one of these days I will freakin' put them in order.
WOO! CONGRATS PRETTY!! ^_^
Oh congrats!!! And GORGEOUS shoes.
Congrats! 'Under My Skin' is one of my favourites, too. And I love the idea of 'My lips are sealed'. Very intriguing!
Donna Tartt's The Secret History is my standard book recommendation, because I loved it. If you like Toni Morrison, Jazz is genius (but I know she's not to everyone's taste.)
The picture and Nic's comment have totally inspired me to go and hunt out some cropped pants to wear with heels!
I have the perfect summer date outfit in my head right now x
100th!! Go you...
yay! before you know it you'll be celebrating your blogiversary! :)
